Your characters read so true that I sometimes think I am reading autobiography and that is a good thing. As an artist, much of the business if not the place are familiar to me. I paint mostly with acrylics now, so I guess I am plastic compared to David, but I definitely recall the smell and feel of oils and the crescents of permanent color under my nails .
