Wow! Things have really improved there! I’m a native of Bethlehem and acted in all the school plays, in the Pennsylvania Playhouse, and a traveling children’s theater troupe (we played to kids in regional schools). This was in the late 1950s. To see “real” theater like you describe, we had to go to Philadelphia or New York. (Except there was one semi-pro group in Easton, now that I think of it. A friend of mine was in their production of Damn Yankees.) Lancaster!
