So much to relate to! But such different lives. 1. I’m older. 2. No major illnesses, except a stint of prostate cancer at 83, presumably zapped away. 3. I marched with my wife and babies in DC in protest of the V war. 4. I tried NYC but bolted to PA and then beyond—I’ve spent most of my life on a mountaintop in Puerto Rico. In other words, I sympathize, but I fled.

Similarities: your love of political leaders, their policies, the degeneration of civility, the shortage of livable new music, the mental lacunas, etc.

This is to say I enjoy your work,! But I have to admit, rather than depressing me, It cheers me up! I’m happy to have sidestepped the dogshit by moving away.

Thanks for a remarkable rant!
