I relate to this perfectly. After two full careers and quite some time retired (I am 83), when I finish a story I feel proud of (even if hardly anyone reads it!) or a painting that I admire and wonder how I did that, I feel young again. As long as I can create, I feel alive—and forget about the inevitable end.
