I have not been behind the wheel of a car since I lost part of my vision to glaucoma. My wife drives. She is a good driver and I like being a quiet (sometimes napping) passenger. We are in our 80s and our car is about 14 years old. We considered a new one, but it seemed like too much of a challenge —as you described so well. It helps that we live on a 35-mile by 100-mile island and there isn’t a road she hasn’t memorized. Not driving has been a blessing!
