I enjoyed the intensity of this story, especially picturing the mad father tearing through the boy's life. Yet I was a little perplexed at the medal. I must be dense, but all I can assume is that it was a military thing and that the father had post traumatic stress, but served with "valor" in a terrible war. If I am right, you might make this a little clearer for people like me! Nice work, of course. (Sort of hard to align the strongest man in the world business with this.)
