Giovanni’s Room was the first gay book I read (as a teen) and it may have started my interest in reading others! I don’t know the other writers you mention but I know I will soon! I appreciate your taking the time to tell me about them. I have found several writers who are new to me through recommendations here on Medium. I am currently reading Haruki Murakami’s Killing Commendatore-not gay but masterful fiction writing.

I have written several gay-themed stories here — you can find them all at https://medium.com/@rcfgunkle/we-are-all-one-5d68cd760f0f if you have the time and inclination. Shameless self-promotion, I know, but it is gay fiction written by a man :).
